In light of recent events, I feel the need to get this off of my chest. Apparently some people are so deluded that they'll get all hysterical over no good reason.
These same people have an apparent disregard for rules. The rules were put in place on this forum for A GOOD REASON. My experience has shown that poorly moderated boards are a safe haven for trolls and hackers. I guess some people want it this way, but I don't. Mike, Paul, Steve, et al have worked extremely hard to make this the best forum it can with simple rules WHICH ARE CLEARLY POSTED to ensure that everyone reads and understands them. I guess that's too hard for some people to comprehend.
Why people bother registering on this forum, then complain because they are forced to follow a bunch of simple rules is beyond me. I guess their lives are that empty. If they don't like the rules on here, they can either 1) Talk with an admin via PM about where they stand, or 2) Leave. We won't be missing them. The rules may seem restrictive, but I'd rather be censored than have the place overrun with trolls, although that may have already happened. Some people on here seem more interested in supporting their own agendas then contributing positively to this forum.
In short, I support most of the moderators. Sure, Paul can get a little paranoid, but he's got the board's best intentions in mind. Perhaps if the people who are so uppity about rules and regs grew up and realized that they're not here for decorations, this morning's events wouldn't have happened. But if they choose to leave for another copycat forum, it's their loss. This is one of the better forums I subscribe too, and I'm proud to be a member. So Paul and company, don't let the fools win.

I will say that I'm not innocent of doing stuff like that. That's why even trolls like Jarody get multiple chances. At this point Jarody is banned for one month plus whatever action Captian Spyro takes. I will miss fordfusion88 a little bit, but I would rather not have jarody come back after his banishment is up. Now that jarody's gone, I support all NRN moderators. How would you feel if litthe green space creatures controlled your mind? ;D I fully agree. The NRN community is far superior to most NASCAR message boards. Thank you. We won't. The NRN community has prevailed aganist these people.

Now that jarody's gone, I support all NRN moderators. I feel the same way now. I never truly felt comfortable with him as a moderator. Someone posting violent pictures or complaining that this wasn't an X-rated site never quite fit the mold of a moderator that I had always thought. I know we're all unique, but some of the stuff he did was completely uncalled for. I hope now we can get all the stuff on here settled.

I'm not sure if this was the right way to handle things, but Paul can do whatever he wants I guess.
But to be frank, we'll have 4 members now; me, Paul, CarlLong46 and Steve when he comes.

Perhaps, but who would you rather have, trollers and troublemakers, or the four you mentioned? (flexes muscles, wiggles chest). If old members come to find the trollers and troublemakers are gone, they may return. Every forum has these kinds of bumps. It builds character.

this is dumb, fordfusion88 and Jarody are good for this site and I'll stick by them both. Don't even try to make it logical, I agree Jarody can be a little much but he's one of the top posters on this board and a moderator of the fantasy picks. He IS a foundation of this site and the way you're starting to run things Paul...you're crumbing that foundation.

But to be frank, we'll have 4 members now; me, Paul, CarlLong46 and Steve when he comes. I never said that I was leaving. The Pit Lane is just an alternative choice to NRN. I still plan on visiting NRN from time to time if Paul doesn't ban me first.

I still support Jarody & FordFusion88, I don't even know how long they're banned.. and I will support hatebreeder, who will probably be banned soon.. as originally said by Evelyn Beatrice Hall, but often attributed to Voltaire, "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it."

I appreciate that Shelmerdinefan72. I may be banned soon. I have calmed down since earlier but it's just Paul is aggrivating me so much, I know he's an adminstrator but he seems to be running this whole site, and I'm in such disagreeance with that. So go ahead and ban me if you must admins, but I just couldn't help it, need to vent my opinion and anger...BECAUSE I feel my opinion or anyone's is not even being considered.

He violated a rule, then flipped out completely when Paul warned him. Jarody cussed out Paul twice because apparently he lacks the maturity to be a mod on this forum. He was banned and fired, both moves I support Paul on. Really, I think some people are crying because they have to obey a few harmless rules and regs.

I was one of the first members on NRN. March 31, 2005 is the exact date I registered. Katesdad, Mike, Ryan Ray, Jarody, nascarfan49, Captain Spyro, 49, Joe Laracuente, shelmerdinefan72, johnnyd, hemi, davew, and jcat were the initial foundation of NRN. This was when just a bunch of NASCAR fans could talk about racing. There really weren't any rules because quite frankly, we didn't need them. We had constructive conversations about every subject that took place in racing. We had a nice format where things could easily be found.
The forum boomed when NRN became the official forum Morgan Shepherd. The fantasy picks game was at an all-time high too. Even after Morgan made a new board NRN still prospered. But now, I don't think anyone can say NRN is prospering. The more we get into rules and punishing people the less fun this board becomes.
I belong to other racing forums that have half the number of users than NRN. The only difference is that every member acts like a mature adult. And if you're not an adult, you act like one.
With all honesty, I can't waste my time bickering with an administrator on a dying internet forum. But if you guys ever want to talk racing, I'll be sure to give my opinion.

i want this to be a member governed board. especially with the low amount of posters that we have. but obviously it cant be. if fordfusion88 was banned, he will be unbanned. i dont care what he did. he's proven himself as a valuable member over the past year or so. tell you the truth, i didnt even see what he did.
Now Jarody is another story. The man is unique. I'm telling you right now, i dont like to censor people. I hate being a "bully" and saying "you cant do/say that", but that signature for instance, will never be allowed back on here. I like Jarody because he does an excellent job with the fantasy picks. I will invite him back after his suspensionand ask him to continue doing so. However, he will not be moderator of the board, ill give him the title of "Board Emcee" if he chooses to accept it. He will have no "moderating powers" but he will be in charge of the scoring and making new rules for the game, as long as theyre approved mike, paul, or I.
Paul, i disagree with some of the decisions you make here, but the fact is, you're a much better moderator than I am. You've done more for this board and the website in the past 6 months than I have, thats for sure. I ask you right now in front of everyone else, to continue what you do. Just grant a bit more tolerance to our faithful few members. they're people too. they should be treated as friends and not just "posters"
thats it. thanks, Steve Leffew
