I think I would be better off just not having a ride for the following year than driving for Bill Davis Racing

So did Waltrip, if toyota dosent help MW racing then they are going to be screwed when all of their sponsors leave.

Hopefully Bill Davis Racing might do good with Toyota with factory support. We shall see at Daytona in 2007

I have a feeling that a lot of these big names they're bringing in to Toyota are going to have a hard time, while a lot of the drivers that aren't as big of names will have more success since they're used to teams in building or re-building stages
Waltrip, Mayfield, & Jarrett will all have a hard time in Toyota.. Vickers will probably do good the first year, but he will improve with time along with the whole Toyota organization.. don't be surprised if Blaney is the best of the Toyota drivers in their first year..
Remember, Blaney's a guy that's used to being underpowered.. he's driven for teams that weren't the top of the series, or were at a point where that season at least they were underpowered..
Think about it.. #93 BDR he didn't do bad, but he was still inexperienced.. #77 Jasper he did the best any driver did in that car, and this was before Penske came into the picture.. #23 BDR he ran lead lap in all his races before problems arose, if not for an error by Nascar at Dover he could have won (under a caution, Blaney & Martin should have been the only 2 cars on lead lap after Newman's penalty)... #07 RCR was his best ride, but in '05 Childress wasn't the best place to be, and this team was rebuilding anyway.. #22 BDR he's holding his own in way underpowered equipment, he's even getting some top 20's in stuff that should be running back around 30th-35th (think where Waltrip's been running)
Waltrip has struggled without DEI power this year, Jarrett's going to the same exact situation as Mikey's in and he hasn't looked too good in Yates stuff this year, Mayfield's been in Evernham stuff the past few years and we know that stuff is fast, just look at Kahne, and he'll take a step down to BDR, we don't know how he'll do in stuff below the top tier (before Evernham he was with Penske)
It's a waiting game

UPDATE - Mayfield signs with BDR: Jeremy Mayfield has signed a 3-year contract with options with Bill Davis Racing. BDR will make the formal announcement during a press conference Friday [at Bristol] when the organization will map out it's plans for 2007 and beyond. Team General Manager Mike Brown says Mayfield "Is everything we've been looking for. He's the kind of driver that was available that was marketable. Obviously he's had success the last couple of years winning races and being in the chase. It's exactly what we needed to facilitate a multi-year deal with a new and exciting sponsor." Brown likes the Mayfield-Tommy Baldwin driver/crew chief combo saying "Tommy's spent a couple of years with him at Evernham so he knows what he likes in cars. From that standpoint we've got a bonus there." Mayfield may not race competitively the rest of this season however he is expected to test beginning next week at Kentucky and Nashville.(PRN's Garage Pass Radio Show)(8-20-2006)
