It's been a long and difficult off season. As you may know, Samson Motorsports will run a go-kart at Poughkeepsie Speedway and select regional/national races.
My goal for 2006 was to enter the Skip Barber National Series. Unfortunately, it is well over $35,000 to compete. It was extremely difficult finding sponsorship. I have decided to withdraw my effort towards Skip Barber Race Series. I didn't make this decision because I do not like the series, but the lack of funding and time. The first race at Laguna Seca will take place March 10th and it is virtually impossible to acquire funds and take part in the necessary training programs before then.
Although this is bad news, I have been presented a new opportunity. Peter Wardle, the Director for the 'Challenge Series,' has approached me and asked me to take part in his newly formed series. The series takes part in Britain and races on famous tracks such as Brands Hatch.
It is approximately $10,000 to compete in the full 12 races series. The series will kick off in the summer which gives me more time to acquire funding. What makes this series unique is the drivers will split 50% of the ticket profit and sponsorship income. If all goes well, I could be making more money at the end then how much I invested in the beginning.
The 'Challenge Series' car has very little down force which results in being a 'driver's car.' This series is not just build around road courses. The 'Challenge Series' will visit one oval (I'm not sure what the name is yet). After testing there, the V6 powered car reach speeds of 200 MPH!

Now you're probably asking yourself, how the hell am I going to acquire funding? On Monday, I plan to contact A1 GP Team USA. I am proposing to make a Team USA in the 'Challenge Series.' The Challenge Series is currently 100% British, which might motivate Team USA to field me a car.
The positive is the costs to race is around $10,000-$15,000. This isn't very much for a multi million dollar race team like Team USA.
