So... I think that all the Buschwackers have finally come around to kill the Busch series, and NASCAR has a serious problem
At California, a companion event with the Cup guys, only 41 cars entered, one of which was actually a backup car (#01 Morgan Shepherd)... So all the time NASCAR tried to convince us that the Buschwackers were actually helping, they were wrong
Take a look at the standings this year so far in the Busch series... the top Busch driver right now is 9th place Regan Smith, who won't even be running the full season
Top 10 Busch-Only Drivers
9. #4 Regan Smith 10. #59 Marcos Ambrose (R) 12. #7 Mike Wallace 13. #36 Brent Sherman 14. #47 Jon Wood 17. #66 Steve Wallace 18. #90 Stephen Leicht 19. #35 Bobby Hamilton Jr 25. #88 Shane Huffman 28. #38 Jason Leffler
In the top 30 overall, there are 11 Busch-only drivers (the other being 29. #14 Kyle Krisiloff (R)) and 19 full-time Cup drivers
Also, a quick note.. good job Marcos Ambrose.. the Aussie rookie is in the top 10 in points, and would be third of the drivers running full-time this season (Edwards & Blaney being ahead)
As the year goes on, it may thin out, especially when they start going places where the Cup guys aren't... we'll probably see a healthy field next week in Mexico, but then it may be rough for the series until they hit Nashville, and the true Busch teams feel like they have a fair shot at running good.

It used to not bother me but you're right. It is getting to the point where it is killing the Busch series. I just don't know what they can really do.

2005 was really the beginning of the end of the Busch series when you look back.. 2004 wasn't that great, there were a lot of teams, but there weren't TOO many.. then once you hit 2005, it was bad, and last year.. only 33/35 races won by full time Cup drivers.. the small teams lost almost all hope and the money to just make the race is rediculous.. since you can have a field of all these Cup guys.. hopefully the COT does it's job for the Busch series , but it'll take a slow year or two until the true help comes
Some of those drivers who've been left behind by big teams may be getting a second chance now, since there will be teams without Cup guys wanting to run..
Burney Lamar Ashton Lewis Danny O'Quinn Mark McFarland Auggie Vidovich Justin Labonte Stanton Barrett Tim Fedewa Jason Keller David Green Michel Jourdain Brandon Miller Casey Atwood Hermie Sadler Gus Wasson Travis Geisler Chad Blount Chase Montgomery Damon Lusk... and on down the line
Look for guys like these along with guys in ARCA & Trucks to get rides in the next few years in Busch when the Cup guys notice that they don't get any information for sunday through running Saturday

Well, now they're up to 43 according to bgnracing.com (the #32 car has entered, without a driver listed).. but looking it up.. nascar.com still only has 42 entries
